Professional Information: Medical Sales Professional selling medical supplies and equipment to physician offices
Personal Information: Born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Went to FSU and then moved to Atlanta for my current job. Married to Kurt Ward and we have a shih tzu named Sunni that keeps us very entertained.
Hobbies: Boating, wakeboarding, triathlons, running, traveling anywhere with water, and spending time with family and friends.
How did you get involved with Tri-Kids?: While I was training for St. Anthonys triathlon, I heard that some of the coaches were training some inner city kids to do the Meek and Mighty kids triathlon the same weekend we would do our triathlon. I made sure to go out the day before and cheer them on. My favorite part was when the kids passed by the tent where everyone was cheering, they would speed up as fast as they could and as soon as they passed, they would slow down again. When I got the email that they were looking for volunteers, I did not think twice.
Favorite Triathlons: St. Anthony’s and Iron Girl
Triathlon Goal: Half Iron Ma
Favorite Tri-Kids Moment: Watching the kids play keep away on the beach after they finished their triathlon. They were all so happy and having fun with such a simple game.
Why am I involved in Tri-Kids: I truly believe that kids, who are involved in sports early on, build a confidence that carries with them throughout the years. These kids love this program and take pride in the achievements they have made through the program. The smiles on their faces as the cross the finish line is priceless!
