Advisory Board / Triathlon Coach

Professional Information: I work in advertising at SunTrust Bank.

Personal Information: I was raised in Marietta (east Cobb County), GA – attended Wheeler High School.  Following high school, I attended Vanderbilt University, graduating with a degree in Communications.  Currently, I am living in the Vinings/Buckhead area of Atlanta.  I enjoy spending time traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, and training with my boyfriend, Bret.  I have two cats – Jackson and Sox.

How did you get involved in Tri Kids?: I was introduced to Dave/Bill and the TriKids by Brent Pease (former TriKids swim coach); I am also a member of Peachtree Tri Club and friend of Mari’s.

Favorite Triathlons: Chattanooga Waterfront – though it was my hardest, it is my biggest accomplishment so far.  Turtle Crawl 2009 (TC 2010 was ROUGH!).

Triathlon Goal: Continue to improve upon race times year over year; compete in different races around the southeast.  No current plans to train for a 1/2 or full Ironman.

Favorite Tri Kids Moment: Watching the kids head back down the beach to run in with their fellow teammates at last year’s triathlon race.

Why am I involved in Tri Kids?: I was fortunate to grow up in a solid family structure where I constantly had the support and encouragment of my parents and sister.  I want to provide these things for kids that deserve it just as much, but don’t necessarily receive it.  I believe it is important to learn early on that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to, as long as you try your hardest.  But I am certain that I get a lot more out of this program than the kids do.
